Account settings

Your account settings cover three things: who you are, how you sign in, and which emails Assure Pro sends you. All three live behind your name in the top-right of the portal.

Where to find it

Click your initials in the top-right corner. Choose Profile to open the Settings page. The page has three tabs in the left sidebar:

TabWhat it’s for
ProfileYour name, email, and phone number
SecurityChange your password
NotificationsWhich emails you want to get

If you came in from the Account hub (the icon in the bottom navigation on mobile), you’ll also see a few other rows for quick access to your signatures, billing, and saved payment methods. The Settings tabs are the same in both places.

Updating your profile

Open the Profile tab.

You can update:

  • Full name — used on documents, invoices, and how your accountant addresses you
  • Phone number — used for text reminders if your accountant sends them

Your email is shown but can’t be changed from here. It’s tied to how you sign in, so changing it has to go through your accountant. Message them if you’ve changed email addresses and they’ll update it for you.

Click Save changes when you’re done.

Changing your password

Open the Security tab.

You’ll see three fields:

  1. Current password — what you sign in with today
  2. New password — at least 8 characters, with at least one letter and one number
  3. Confirm new password — type the new one a second time so a typo doesn’t lock you out

Click Change password. You’ll see a “Password changed successfully” message and stay signed in.

Pick a password you don’t use anywhere else. If you forget it, you can reset it from the sign-in screen — see Signing in for the steps.

Choosing which emails to get

Open the Notifications tab.

You’ll see five switches, each one tied to a different kind of email. Turn any of them off if you don’t want that type of email.

SwitchWhen Assure Pro emails you
MessagesYour accountant sends you a new message
Document requestsYour accountant asks you for a document
Invoice remindersAn invoice is due, or it’s gone past due
Signature requestsA document needs your signature
Engagement updatesThe status of your tax engagement changes

Each switch saves the moment you flip it — a small “Preferences saved” note appears at the bottom to confirm.

If you turn everything off, you’ll only see new activity when you open the portal yourself. Most clients leave at least Signature requests and Invoice reminders on, since those are usually time-sensitive.

Signing out

You can sign out from two places:

  • The Account hub — click Sign out at the bottom
  • Your initials in the top-right corner — choose Sign out

Assure Pro will sign you out automatically after a stretch of inactivity, so you don’t have to remember.

A few good habits

  • Keep your phone number current. Some firms send text reminders before a deadline.
  • Use a unique password. A password manager (built into most phones and browsers) is the simplest way.
  • Leave signature reminders on. A tax return waiting on a signature is the most common reason a filing slips past a deadline.

What’s next

  • Signing in — what to do if you can’t sign in or forget your password
  • Messages — message your accountant if you need help updating your email
