Connecting to QuickBooks
Assure Books works on top of a client’s QuickBooks Online data. Connecting a client’s QuickBooks is also how their workspace gets created in Assure Books the first time.
Adding a new workspace
- Click Add New Workspace.
- Click Connect to QuickBooks.
- Sign in to Intuit with the client’s QuickBooks Online credentials.
- Select the client’s QuickBooks company.
Assure Books creates the workspace and starts syncing the connected company’s data.
Firm-level QuickBooks app setup
Before any client can connect, your firm needs a QuickBooks OAuth app configured once in Settings — a Client ID and Client Secret from your Intuit developer account. If a client’s connection needs re-authorizing, use Reconnect QuickBooks or Refresh Token from the same Settings page.
There’s no “disconnect” action for a connected client — if a connection needs to change, reconnect or refresh the token from Settings rather than looking for a disconnect option.
