Clients overview
Open Clients to see every client your firm does bookkeeping for. The list is read-only here — it’s shared with Assure Pro, where clients are actually added, edited, and removed.
“Engagement” means something different here than in Assure Pro or Assure Audit. In Assure Books, a client’s engagement end date is the close of their current bookkeeping period — not a workflow pipeline or a synced audit-service record. See Engagement end date & locking.
What every client has
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Client name | Shared with Assure Pro’s client record. |
| Status | Active, inactive, or deleted. |
| Engagement end date | The date this bookkeeping period closes, driving the read-only lock. |
| QuickBooks connection | Whether this client’s books are connected and syncing. |
The daily workflow
- Select a client from the client picker to start working in their books.
- Connect QuickBooks if it isn’t already connected — this is also how a client’s workspace gets set up in Assure Books for the first time. See Connecting to QuickBooks.
- Work through Bookkeeping, Review, and Reports for that client.
- Close the books when the period is done. See Engagement end date & locking.
