Home dashboard

The home page is your at-a-glance view. When you sign in, you’ll see exactly what your accountant is waiting on, what’s coming up, and what’s already done.

The greeting

A short message at the top tells you the day and how many things need your attention. If everything is on track, it simply says nothing needs your attention right now.

Needs your attention

The biggest section on the page lists the things waiting on you. Each card shows:

  • What it is — a signature, a document request, a payment, a message, or a questionnaire
  • A badge like URGENT, OVERDUE, or DUE FRIDAY
  • A short description of what your accountant is asking for
  • A button that takes you straight to the right page to act on it

Cards are sorted by urgency. Overdue and urgent items appear first, then due-soon, then everything else. The same list also drives the badges in the sidebar so you always know what’s pending.

Quick uploads from the dashboard

If your accountant has requested a specific document, the card for it has an Upload button right inside. Click it, pick the file, and it goes straight to the right place — you don’t have to dig through folders.

Your engagements

Below the attention cards, you’ll see a progress view of your active tax engagements. Each engagement (for example, your 2024 individual return) shows the stages it’s moving through:

  • Gathering
  • Preparation
  • Review
  • Signing
  • Filing

A bar fills as each stage completes. Hover any stage to see the name. Click an engagement to open the full details.

If your accountant has flagged a problem — for example, missing documents — you’ll see it noted on the card.

Recent activity

On the right side, a short timeline shows the latest few things that have happened: a document uploaded, a message sent, a payment received. It’s a quick way to see momentum without opening each section.

Your team

Right below recent activity, you’ll see who’s working on your engagement — names, roles, and a quick link to message them. You don’t need to remember email addresses; you can start a conversation from there.

Stay-organized reminder

A small dark card encourages you to turn on email and text reminders so you don’t miss a signature or deadline. One click takes you to your notification settings.

First visit experience

If this is your very first sign-in, the home page looks a little different — it welcomes you, explains what to expect, and points you to the first thing your accountant wants you to do (usually signing an engagement letter or filling out a questionnaire).

All done

When everything is handled, the attention area swaps to an “all done” message. You’ll still see your engagement progress, recent activity, and team contact info — but you’re caught up.

Tips

  • Check the home page first thing. It’s the fastest way to know what’s needed without scrolling through every section.
  • Use the sidebar badges as a shortcut. Red dots next to Messages, Documents, or Signatures mean there’s something waiting on you.
  • Turn on email reminders. If you only sign in occasionally, the reminders nudge you before a deadline slips.
