Reviewing organizer responses

Once a client has submitted (or partly filled in) an organizer, you review the responses in the organizer review view. This is where you decide if the data is complete, lock the organizer, or send it back for fixes.

Open from Intake → Organizers and click any row.

The body — sections

Each section from the template renders as a card with a header (section title + optional description) and a list of items. Sections are not collapsible — they all expand on the page.

Question items

For every question:

  • The label (with a red * if required).
  • Optional help text below the label.
  • The client’s answer in the right column.

If the client hasn’t answered, you’ll see:

No answer

(italicized, in a muted color)

How values render:

Question typeRenders as
Text / Email / Long textThe text verbatim.
NumberThe number.
DateFormatted date.
Yes / No”Yes” or “No”.
Single choice / DropdownThe selected option label.
Multi-selectComma-separated list of selected options.
SSN / EINThe full value (no masking on the review side).
EmptyAn em-dash.

Document items

For every requested document:

  • Icon, label (with * if required), and optional help text.
  • A status badge.
BadgeStatusColor
PendingNot uploaded yet.Amber
UploadedThe client uploaded a file.Green
N/AThe client marked “not applicable” with a reason.Grey

If uploaded, View document opens the document in the Documents module.

Repeatable sections

Some sections repeat per item — for example, one set of fields per dependent, K-1, or rental property. For repeatable sections:

  • The section’s repeat label is used (like “Dependent” or “Rental property”).
  • Each repeat shows as “{repeat label} #1, #2, …” with the items underneath.
  • The count is driven by how many answers and documents the client submitted at each index.

If a repeatable section has no answers at all, it shows index #1 empty.

Action dialogs

Mark reviewed

Opens when you click Mark reviewed. Asks:

FieldRequired
Review notesOptional. Up to 2,000 characters. Internal — the client never sees them.

Click Mark reviewed. Status changes to Reviewed. The client is locked out of further edits.

Request changes

Opens when you click Request changes. Asks:

FieldRequired
Message to clientRequired. Up to 2,000 characters. Shown to the client when they re-open the organizer.

Example: “Please add the 1099-NEC for your freelance work.”

Click Send to client. Status changes to Changes requested. The client gets a notification and the organizer becomes editable on their side.

Delete

Opens when you click Delete. Confirmation copy:

The client will lose access immediately. Answers and document requests are kept in case you need to recover, but the organizer disappears from the list.

The organizer leaves the list and the client’s access to it stops. The data is preserved if you need to recover later.
