Create your firm
Setting up a new Assure Pro firm takes about five minutes. You’ll do four things: confirm your email with a one-time code, fill out your profile, set up your firm’s basic info, and pick a few defaults.
What you need before you start
- A work email address (you can change it later, but this becomes the firm owner account).
- Your firm’s legal name and time zone.
- Optional: a logo (PNG or SVG, 240×60 minimum).
1. Sign up
Go to pro.assureone.ai and click Sign up.
You can sign up with:
- Email + password — receive a 6-digit code by email, enter it to verify.
- Google — sign in with your Google account.
- Microsoft — sign in with your Microsoft 365 account.
All three options land at the same place: the firm setup wizard.

2. Verify your email (email + password only)
Assure Pro emails a 6-digit code to the address you signed up with. Enter the code on the next screen. The code expires after 10 minutes — if it does, click Resend code to get a new one.
If you signed up with Google or Microsoft, skip ahead to step 3.
3. Fill out your profile
| Field | What goes here |
|---|---|
| First name / Last name | Your name as it should appear in client-facing emails. |
| Mobile number | Used for SMS notifications and two-factor authentication. Optional but recommended. |
| Time zone | Used for due-date math. Default: the time zone of your IP address — change it if you’re traveling. |
4. Set up your firm
| Field | What goes here |
|---|---|
| Firm name | The legal name of your firm. Appears on engagement letters and invoices. |
| Firm display name | What clients see in emails: “Acme Tax Group” rather than “Acme Tax Group, PLLC”. Defaults to firm name. |
| Business type | Solo practitioner, partnership, LLC, S-corp, C-corp. Used for default templates. |
| Number of practitioners | Used to suggest default pipeline stages and capacity defaults. |
| Primary tax software | Drake, ProConnect, Lacerte, CCH, or “other”. Determines the format of extraction exports. |
You can change any of these later from Settings → Firm profile.
5. Pick your defaults
Assure Pro ships with sensible defaults so the firm is usable on day one. The wizard surfaces a few decisions:
| Decision | Default | Where to change later |
|---|---|---|
| Pipeline | Awaiting docs → Docs received → In prep → In review → Awaiting signature → Filed | Settings → Pipelines |
| Return types enabled | 1040 (individual), 1120S, 1120, 1065, 1041 | Settings → Return types |
| Document types | W-2, 1099 family, 1098, K-1, prior-year returns, engagement letters | Settings → Document types |
| Reminder cadence | Gentle at day 3, firm at day 7, urgent at day 10 | Settings → Notifications |
Click Finish setup to land on your dashboard.
What just happened
Assure Pro created:
- Your firm, with you as the owner.
- A default team (“All users”) with you in it.
- A default pipeline with five stages.
- Starter templates — one engagement letter, one organizer, and one folder structure for each entity type.
Next
- Onboard your first client — send a magic link and watch documents flow in.
- Invite your team — add preparers, reviewers, signers.
Assure Pro supports multiple firms per email address. If you switch between firms (e.g. you partner with another CPA), use the firm switcher in the top-left of the sidebar.
