The client detail page

The detail page is where you spend most of your time on any single client. It opens when you click a client name anywhere — the Clients list, search results, the pipeline, or a notification.

The page has two parts:

  • A header at the top with the client name, status badge, contacts, and a Quick actions menu.
  • A tab strip below with 8 tabs (plus a 9th if your firm uses the credential vault).

How to use the header

ElementWhat it does
Client nameClick to rename the client inline.
Status badgeActive, Inactive, or Prospect. Click to change.
Entity type pillIndividual, Business, Trust, or Nonprofit. Read-only — see Entity types for why.
Contacts dropdownQuick access to every contact’s email, phone, and portal status. Click a contact to jump to the Contacts tab.
Quick actions menuThe most-used actions on a client: Add note, Send intake, Send engagement letter, Send invoice, Create engagement, Send message.
More menu (three-dot)Less-frequent actions: Archive client, Change entity type via support, Export client data.

The header sticks to the top of the page as you scroll, so Quick actions are always one click away.

How the tabs work

Tabs appear in this order:

  1. Overview — at-a-glance dashboard for the client.
  2. Info — the full editable record.
  3. Documents — the client’s document library.
  4. Communications — every conversation tied to this client.
  5. Engagements — every engagement, past and present.
  6. Intake — active and historical intakes.
  7. Billing — invoices, payments, and time entries.
  8. E-sign — signing packages.
  9. Credentials (only if your firm uses the vault and you have access) — secure credentials for this client.

Tabs with unread updates show a dot next to the tab name. The dot clears when you open the tab.

Editing details on the Info tab

The Info tab is the detail-editing view. Sections:

  • Entity details — display name, entity type, SSN/EIN, DOB, filing status, address, phone. Each row is inline-editable.
  • Tags — apply or remove tags. See Tags.
  • Custom fields — any custom fields defined for this entity type.
  • Assignments — preparer, reviewer, signer, and the general assignee. See Assignments.
  • Notes — the full notes list. Click a note to edit, or click + Add note to create a new one. See Notes.
  • Related entities — links to other clients. See Relationships.

SSN, EIN, and spouse SSN appear masked by default — ***-**-1234. Click the eye icon to reveal (visible only to users with the View sensitive client data permission).

Working with the Documents tab

A folder-tree view of the client’s document library.

  • The left sidebar is the folder tree. Folders where the AI has recently filed a document highlight green.
  • The right pane shows documents in the selected folder.
  • Click + Upload (top-right) to open a file picker. Drag-and-drop into the page also works.
  • Each row shows the document type pill, AI confidence, filename, who uploaded it, the date, and a three-dot menu.
  • To see trashed documents, click … → View trash in the folder header.

See Documents for the full document workflow.

Reviewing communications

A threaded view of every email, SMS, portal message, and call note tied to this client.

  • Conversations group by thread — replies stack inside the same conversation.
  • The top filter strip toggles between All channels, Email, SMS, Portal, and Calls.
  • Each conversation shows participants, the channel icon, a last message preview, and an unread badge.
  • Click a conversation to open the thread reader.
  • Click + New conversation to open a compose dialog. Assure Pro pre-fills the recipient from the client’s primary contact.

See Communications for the compose flow, AI drafts, and reminders.

  • Each intake card shows the associated engagement, the sent date, link status, document checklist progress (for example, “8 of 12 documents matched”), and a Resend intake button.
  • Click a card to see per-document detail — what’s matched, what’s outstanding, when the last reminder went out.
  • Click + Send new intake to open the intake send dialog.
